Marin Senior Fair 9/17/2025

Please stop by our booth at this years Marin Senior Fair in San Rafael, at the Marin Civic Center Auditorium, We will have free snacks and some items to give away as well as plenty of information on how we help seniors.


Panera Bread Fundraiser

Join us on Saturday October 25th, 4:00 - 8:00pm and enjoy a great healthy meal and Panera will donate 25% of receipts to help us help Seniors at no extra cost to you.


Raise Right Gift Cards: 

This is a great program that has been earning us money every month, you or people you know that are willing to sign up using our link below can purchase Gift Cards for giving as gifts or for doing your own shopping online or around town, there are hundreds of gift card brands to choose from, I use mine for shopping for Groceries or Gas or at many local stores and restaurants. Best part is, you can purchase online as a printable gift card and it is ready to print and use in minutes, you can even download to your phone and use immediately, and there is only a small activation fee at time of purchase.

We are building a group of volunteers to grow this organization for the purpose of helping senior citizens get the care that they need but cannot afford, and help their families that have taken on the responsibilities of trying to care for their loved ones at the expense of the quality of their own lives.

We are a new Nonprofit charity organization, just formed in December 2020 for the purpose of helping senior citizens get the care that they need but cannot afford. It is our goal to improve the quality of life for seniors and their family members who have taken on the burden of trying to care for their loved ones.

We focus on helping Seniors get the care that they need to continue the quality of life that they have worked all of their lives to create for them and their families.

Senior Help, facts about Long Term Care

  

  • 48% of people turning age 65 will need some type of paid long term care services in their lifetime.


  • 37%  of individuals in the US age 65 will incur out-of-pocket long-term care costs.


  •  The average woman needs long-term care services for 3.7 years, and the average man for 2.2 years.


  • 34.2 Million Americans have provided unpaid care to an adult age 50 or older in the last 12 months.

 

  • In California, Medicaid covers only Nursing Home care. 


  •   In California Medicaid is also known as Medi-Cal.


  • Medicaid does not cover In home Care, Independent living facilities, and Assisted living facilities.

  

  • Average Monthly Cost of Care in California:
  • In Home Care  $7,800.00
  • Assisted Living $4,500.00
  • Adult Day care $2,340.00


  • To qualify for Medicaid for an applicant who is single, their countable assets must be no higher than $2,000. If married with a spouse remaining at home countable assets can reach $128,640.


  • Countable assets include, but are not limited to: Checking or Savings accounts, CDs, investment accounts like mutual funds, stocks and bonds; life insurance policies with a value more than $1500, cars (anything over one car is counted); second homes and non-business properties; accounts held in revocable trusts; promissory notes, etc.


  • There is also a program available known as "Medi-Caid Waivers" that can provide benefits for at home, adult day care, or in assisted living. The asset limits are the same but there is also an income limit of $1,486 per month.


  • Medicare may provide some help but generally doesn't cover long term stays in a nursing home.
